Cajun Cur

   History

Like the Kemmer Stock Mountian Cajun Cur we owe the Birth of this Breed to Robert Kemmer.

Years ago Robert took some Mt. feist bloodline and crossed it into some of the smaller Kemmer Stock dogs.It worked well but he decided to devote his full energy  into the Kemmer Stock dogs. Latter Robert Talked the Cajun Cur {Calvin Boutte}in to

breeding the dogs.{thus the name Cajun Cur  Squirrel Dogs} Calvin bred them for a few years with the help of Mac Miller.Schedule problems causedthe Cajun to drop his breeding program .Lloyd Herring took the dogs for a while but soon sold them to Carlton Savoy.

Calvin had talked me into trying one and I was so impressed I started raising them along with my Kemmer Dogs. Since I Know more about the breeding of my dogs the rest of this article will be about my dogs. This in no way is meant to slight anyone or their dogs.  The first Cajun Cur Squirrel Dog I owned was out of Cajun Cur

Runt an Cajun Cur Hank, she was treeing squirrel at three months. This dog could wind a squirrel at one hundred yards and was very accurate. The second was out of Cajun Cur  Lil'Jack and Cajun Cur  Lil'Bit this was to my knowledge the best litter of Cajun Cur  pups ever. There was three pups in the litter,Jimmino Thompson's Cricket

my Salem's Lil'Jack, the other was owned by Mutt Beard and I latter bought him.He is currently owned by myself and Mac Miller. The original guide lines were to use the Bounce bloodlines in the Mt. Feist and the smaller more squirrel minded Kemmer Stock, mainly Yellow Jack and Blondielines. We have tried to keep strickly to these guide lines. We remain devoted to these Great little tree dogs that Robert gave us,Robert we thank you.
