French Pyrenean Pointer

     Origine

The French Pyrenean Pointer  is the ancestor of all pointers with short hair. During the XVIIème century, PHOBUS OF FOIX used it and an old author, ESPINAR, said they seemed to fly above the ground to search the prey. This excellent pointer managed to preserve its rusticity. Moreover, it preserved the effectiveness of the time when the dogs were grown only for the services which they returned.

General characteristics  The Braque Français is a dog at the same time powerful and elegant, active and obedient, alive and soft; a wonder of balance to education so easy that its followers say that it is born "raise". This pointer, as at ease with wood as in plain, could also be a quiet pet and very faithful. Its coat with short hair is mottled or spotted of brown and white. Its gilded look is intelligent and with a great softness. Its size varies between 47 to 58 cm, for the Pyrénées type (small size) and from 59 to 67 cm for the type Gascogne (great size). The Braque Français Pyrénées type with the general aspect of a dog rustic, without heaviness, but sufficiently muscular.
