HELLINIKOS ICHNILATIS

       HISTORY

Our doghobby began in December 1999 when we bought Noora alias Rita from Hessin Kennel.. She didnīt like to be alone at home so we started looking for companion for her.We saw a drawing of Hellinikos Ichnilatis in a dogbook. After making several enquiries in spring and summer 2000, in autum we finally found our Ada in Greece. Then began our nine months waiting. The Kennel Club of Greece donīt give the Export Pedigree until the dog is 6 months old and passes the grading show.
After the two dogs got used to each other they are getting along very good. In autum 2002 Aris Tis Ekatis joined to our pack. He is a male Greek Hound.
Our hobby includes except walking and "talking" with dogs; shows and of course hunting - both the dogs are hounds. The kennelname - Adasoksen - was confirmed 14.2.2002The breed is very rare outside the Greece. As a matter of fact it is one of most rare breed that F.C.I. has classified. It is lively and friendly. The breed is native Greek for thousands of years. It has been developed there from older types of "lagonikoi"/lakonian hounds (hare hunting dogs). Because the breed has been living in outlying districts it has remain pure for millenniums.
