The late
Mario Querel from Prato near
Florence with his famous kennelsdi Ponzano was the one with
most Mastino Napoletano champions . A friend of Mario Querci , Clemente
Biondo from Cancello gave Querci a female Mastino Napoletano called
Fiamma as a gift with the promise of a female puppy of the first
litter. In
Querci's hands Fiamma became the first female Mastino Napoletano crowned
Italian Champion in 1953 following the first male - Scanziani'sGuaglione
in 1949. These are not the
dogs that many breeders in Italy now pawn off as Cane Corsi.
