History The Oklahoma is a
large pit bull type dog. It is
said that the Ok Bulldog is made up from crosses of Dogue
De Bordeaux and American
Bulldog crossed to American
Pit bull Terriers. The Ok Bulldog has quite a bit of controversy
surrounding it but is a formidable athletic large breed and a whopper of
dog.
The Ok Bulldog has much controversy surrounding it. Many Weight Pullers found pit bulls that were larger than any of the other varieties. Many IWPA weight pullers began to own these dogs in the early 1990's felt they were not what they felt true bred pit bulls but had in fact been out crossed to other breeds to enhance its large size. The original dogs bred, being in Oklahoma was how it was duped into the name of Oklahoma Bulldog.
Temperament: The Ok Bulldog is a great family companion, it can be very dog aggressive and is not a welcoming of strangers like most pit bulls because of it infusion with the Dogue De Bordeaux and American Bulldog. Size: 70-125 pounds.
Today's Uses: The Ok Bulldog is a supreme weight puller. It has also been used for catching of wild game but its most likely found on a weight pull track.
