  Description

The Ori Pei is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the pug and the Shar-Pei. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.  The Ori Pei is was created in North America in the 1970's. A breeder by the name of Aaron Silver loved the Chinese Shar-Pei breed, but did not like all of the health problems that were commonly associated with it, such as eye tacking, skin problems, and hip dysphasia. She wanted to have a smaller version of the Shar-Pei without all of the health problems. She used the Shar-Pei and Pug to create.  Weight: 15-30 (lbs)  Height: 12-15 (Inches.)  Color(s): white, black, brown, parti color, gray  Coat: The coat is about 1/2 inch in length with a soft under coat.   Character: The Ori Pei is strong, intelligent and loving. Temperament: The Ori Pei is friendly and becomes very attached to the family. They get along well with children.  Care: This breed needs an occasional bath and brushing. The creases on the face need to be cleaned regularly.  Training: The Ori Pei loves to please its owner and do well with gentle training. Activity: The Ori Pei needs moderate exercise and loves to be taken for walks.Country of Origin: USALife Expectancy: 12-15 (Yrs.)

Faults   Any departure from foregoing points should be considered a fault and the seriousness with which the fault should be regarded should be in exact propotion to its degree.

Note * Male animals should have two apparently normal testicles fully descended into the scrotum.
